Image re-worked in Photoshop CS3 to correct earlier post-processing errors. Thanks to

An attempt to shoot hot-white. The model is seven-year-old Lois. Kids have no problem with pulling funny faces: the biggest problem is keeping them still long enough to focus!
Shot with strobe at 1/4 power top right through white shoot-through. Second strobe on floor behind model at full power to bleach the back-drop.
Shot with kit lens at 23mm, 1/125 at f4, ISO 200.
Minimal post-work in PS Elements to correct colour cast.

Ah that looks much better, the selection lines are gone 
I hate to say this after all your hard work but there is still a visible circle around the girls torso, the inside of the ring not being as white as the background. It's probably a good idea to keep that slightly darker background so that her shirt doesn't disappear but you just need to fade the edge of the circle with your pen so it won't be visible (if that makes any sense).
